I’ve always had a passion for exercise, movement and health. I have always had a passion and perhaps you could call it my purpose for helping others to get healthy!
Perhaps you could call me a trail blazer when I was younger! My dad always referred to me as a Health Nut! That always makes me laugh when I think about it…I guess I was a real trend setter! I starting teaching yoga and exercise programs in my 20’s. I loved the outfits! My reasons for my choice of career have drastically changed and I always remember who and what got me here. I have had many mentors or Gurus, in my life, but my first teacher was a professional dancer. She taught me how to safely teach exercise and to encourage others. I couldn’t get enough. I taught so many exercise classes, I was hooked. I am truly grateful to have had such an amazing mentor. However, the most fantastic and rewarding part was and still is, that I love helping others. I know that it is my purpose, to help and inspire others to “show up” for their lives, to take charge of their bodies, minds and spirits and to inspire them to be healthy, happy, and whole. I am patient, gentle, and genuine. I strive each day to walk my talk.
I encourage my clients to connect deeply with their bodies. To reduce stress and facilitate healing. I strive to empower and teach others how to navigate through the mysteries of exercise and nutrition, giving them direct access to the skills and tools needed to live a life of mindfulness, self-inquiry, and purpose. I have been teaching since I was 21 years old and I have never ever grown tired of my work!
I offer group and private yoga and fitness sessions, “Lunch and Learn Programs” in the work place, organizations, libraries, Hospitals and many other venues. I have spoken before many audiences and groups about living life with mindfulness and purpose. I studied Health Education at Southern Connecticut State University. I am a Certified Fitness Instructor and member of NASM, Certified Yoga Instructor, Studied at The Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Reiki Master Healer Teacher, Reflexologist and I am the author of “Life off the Mat” Living a Life of Excellence and Purpose creator of “Surrender” a Guided Meditation CD, and author of “The Spaces in Between” a beautiful book of poems to inspire and delight you.
Now that you know a little about who I am professionally, I’ll tell you a bit about my life “outside my office.” I was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Moved to Connecticut where I met and married my High School Sweetheart. We have been blessed with a son. I have had several pets over the years. Recently in September 2021 I lost my beautiful Bandit. He was a very special dog. We are expected a new puppy “Yogi” a Rhodesian Ridgeback April 22, 2022!
I traveled with my husband through Europe before we had our son. My husband played professional basketball 6 years abroad and one year in the United States in the NBA for the Golden State Warriors, an amazing accomplishment.
I am pretty much a home body but love an adventure once in a while. I love to cook when I have time, spend time with my husband and my son, love to garden, and my favorite thing to do is to take a walk in the woods. It is a place for me to connect to nature and let my mind run free. I love to read, write, daydream and especially talk!
Nice to meet you!
